Tiffany’s David story- Q102 Jingle Ball

Tiffany wrote in to tell us about her first time meeting David at the Q102 Jingle Ball on December 14!

“At the end of idol, I fell in love with David Archuleta. One of my best friends who also really liked David asked if my sister and I wanted to go to the American Idol Tour with her and our other friend. The concert was on August 14th in Washington D.C., and when we finally got the tickets I was really excited!

By that time I was a huge fan of David’s and really wanted to meet him. I spent countless hours trying to find backstage passes or anyway to meet him. Then, one day I found out on youtube that if you get there early enough, you could meet the idols. I heard that they all come out and you can take pictures with them and get their autographs.

I even wrote David a letter and printed out cute pics of him that I wanted him to sign. I got his gift all ready too. When 10:30 AM rolled around we were about to leave. I called my friend to tell her we were on our way, but then she said, “We have a problem.” I started to freak our because it was getting later, and it’s a 45 minute drive to DC. She told me that our other friend who was going with us had to go to dance practice.

I asked her if there was any possible way she could miss it, and she didn’t know. She told me that our friend had no other way of getting there and it’d be best if we left all together later. Not knowing what to do, I was really upset that my friend didn’t tell us about her going to dance and my other friend not being more organized. I wish i had known about this, so I could’ve tried to plan something out ahead. So we missed the afternoon autograph signing.

At the end of the concert, I ran outside because i saw these huge buses, and I was hoping I could at least see him up close for a second. But when I got outside there were security guards all around holding up signs that said, “No autographing because of security and space issues.” I was sooooooo sad and i just couldn’t believe it. I had prayed so hard and hoped for a totally different night. I was hoping to come home with stories and pictures with archie, but instead I came home and cried. When I got home, I called my best friend and told her all about it. Telling her the story I was in tears, but she was there for me and tried to do anything to make me feel better. She even promised that we would go to the next concert together and do anything in her power to meet him. After a few days, I learned that we have to be more organized next time. I was thankful for seeing them live and grateful, but I just hoped and prayed for a second chance.

So, as I became a bigger fan, I found out about these Jingle Balls, and told my friend about it. I was really excited because she offered to take us to the Q102 Jingle Ball in Camden, NJ on Dec 14th, 2008. I was soooo grateful and thankful! Ironically enough the concert was the same day as the American Idol Tour, and so it had been 4 months since I had seen Archie. I was sooooo EXCITED, and when the weekend finally came I was freaking out! i also had found out that you could meet any of the artists, so I felt like this could be my SECOND CHANCE!! I prayed SOO hard and on our way there I prayed the rosary! I seriously did anything to meet david because he’s soo inspirational, cute, amazing, funny, and life changing! I also wanted to meet someone who was my age too!! I’ve been waiting for this moment for 4 months, and I really really wanted to meet him. He’s so incredible and i’m so proud of him!!

I waited until10am for this MOMENT!!! In order to meet any of the artists, you had to buy their cd, and then they’d give you a wrist band, and you can meet them during the concert! I BOUGHT DAVIDS!!! ahhhh the concert was AMAZING! everyone performed incredible and my seats were really good!!!! THENNN around 8:45, I got in line to meet ARCHIE!! AHHHHHH! When I finally got closer and could see him, I ALMOST DIED!!!

I wanted to take pics or videos, but they wouldn’t let us! it was so annoying because they didn’t want us to sell them on the internet or something, which was sad! ahhhhh BUT THEN IT WAS MY TURN! So I went up to him and he looked AT ME IN THE EYES ( BEAUTIFUL GREEN EYES) haha AND SAID “HEY!!!” AND I WAS LIKE, “HEY DAVID!” AND I WAS LIKE, “I’M TIFFANY!” AND HE WAS LIKE, “HOW ARE YOU TIFFANY? ” AND I WAS LIKE, “GOOD, HOW ARE YOU?!” AND HE WAS LIKE,”DOING PRETTY GOOD!” AHHH THEN HE SAYS “THANKS FOR COMING OUT AND IT’S REALLY NICE TO MEET YOU TIFFANY!!” AND THEN HE SMILED SOOO BIG AND I WAS LIKE, “TAHNK YOU, YOU TOO!!!! BYE!” AND HE WAS LIKE, “BYE” AND THEN HE GAVE ME MY CD AFTER HE SIGNED IT AND I TOUCHED HIS HAND!!!!!! TOUCHED HIS HAND!AHHHHH!!! AND HE LAUGHED! HAHA

THEN, I LEFT AND MET HIS DAD!!!!! We talked FOR 20 MINUTES! we talked about David, Utah, and he asked us where my sister and I where we were from and we told him woodbridge, virginia and he was like, “wow!” and we were like, “Yeah, to see david!” haha I told Jeff how much I love David and how inspirational he is and how he did a great job raising david! Then he asked us where we were from, and I told him we were half Colombian, half filipino, so we told him we have spanish in us like them! haha and then I told him thank you so much for everything because I’ve been waiting for so long to meet David, and how this was an amazing second chance because I missed him at the idol tour and he was like, “yeah i’m glad!” and he was like, “It’s sad that no one could take a pic with david!” and i was like “I know!” but I told him to tell david we said hey and to please come to VA! haha and he said okay!

i told him we just turned 18 and our bday was international archie day haha and he was SOOOO nice haha and he ASKED US OUR NAMES! Haha and I told him our names and he told us that we are SOO POSITIVE AND ENERGECTIC THAT WE REMIND HIM OF DAVID!!!!!!!!! AHHHH AND THEN HE ASKED US TO WRITE DOWN OUR NAMES SO WE GAVE HIM OUR NUMBERS!! AHHHH and he was like, “I’ll make sure to give this to david!” AHHHH AND THEN we took a pic with Mr. Archuleta, and then we gave him 3 hugs. Then david was leaving and HE WAVED AT ME AND SMILED SOOOOOOOO BIGGGGG!!!!!!! AHHHH HE WAS SOOO CUTE AND EXCITED!

OMGGGG & THEN MR ARCHULETA WAS LIKE DAVID! AND HE WAS TRYING to get his attention but securtiy was eveywhere and david was just like BYE! AWWWWH and then we gave him another hug and thanked him! AHHHHHHHHH and then we went back to the concert where we saw the other artists peform! BUT omg best night ever!!!! i got a free t-shirt, mirror, and folder! hAHA I took videos and pics, but my memory was too full bc of david, so I didn’t take that many, but still it was AMAZING!!!! omggggg! and I CAN’T BELIEVE I MET HIM!!! he was SOOOOO CUTE OMG! He was wearing a cute lil scarf, and vest!!!

I just can’t believe i met him!! All I can do is thank God for this amazing second chance and opportunity. I’m so thankful for it! I also want to thank all my friends who prayed for me. This moment meant the world to me, and I still can’t believe it happened. It’s sooo surreal and whenever I watch my videos or look at pics, I get chills. It was sooooo unbelievable and it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for God and my friends.

I also really want to thank my best friend and her Mom for taking the time to drive us to NJ and making this moment possible. I had a great time and it was definitely the best day of my life! It was really fun too because I got to go with my sister and my best friends. We got to stay at her sister’s apartment and watch Christmas movies. It was definitely the highlight of my year, and I’ll never ever forget it. Thank you so much God and everyone! I really believe that second chances are possible.
